Last we heard from drummer Jason Bittner, Shadows Fall is "still waiting for the right time" for their reunion. The band played their last show in 2015 and has not resurfaced yet. Bittner currently drums in Overkill, guitarist Jonathan Donais is in Anthrax, other guitarist Matthew Bachand is in Act Of Defiance, and vocalist Brian Fair has Overcast, Downpour, and Hell Night.
Now in an interview with Heavy New York, Bittner makes it seem like 2020 might be the time. When asked if he'd like to promote any of his other projects, Bittner responds "There might be some other rumblings with another band when other people have time to do it."
Whether that means there's some shows coming or Shadows Fall is doing a new record is entirely unclear, but anything Shadows Fall at this point is very welcome. The "people who have time to do it" comment seems to reference Jon Donais, who is wrapping up a new Anthrax album.
Shadows Fall released their last album Fire From The Sky in 2012.
Update: Shortly after this story was posted, frontman Brian Fair quoted tweeted it with a shrug emoji.
