Andrew W.K. embarked on his first tour in five years this year titled The Party Never Dies, and now he's revealed that he'll also be hitting the studio to release a new album on March 2, 2018 via Sony Music!
“I’m going for the sound of pure, unadulterated power; every emotion, every thought, every experience, every sensation, every fear, every joy, every clarity, every confusion, every up, every down… all extruded and concentrated into one thick syrup of super life-force feeling, and then psychically amplified by the celebratory spirit of glorious partying.”
No real information is known about the album just yet, though we're really hoping it lives up to how Aqua Teen Hunger Force views his music. This will be Andrew W.K.'s first new album since 55 Cadillac in 2009, which was just an instrumental solo piano album. We're also aware of the 2009 covers album Gundam Rock and the 2010 compilation Mother of Mankind.
In fact, if you want to get really hairsplitting, the next album will be his first of all originals with a full band since 2006's Close Calls With Brick Walls.
