Scott Ian and Brian Posehn have collaborated on some pretty funny songs, including "Metal By Numbers" and the amazing "More Metal Than You." They apparently had so much fun doing it, that they're going to be working on a full album together.
Last Friday, Posehn stopped by the SiriusXM Liquid Metal studios, and while talking on-air to my buddy Jose Mangin, Posehn revealed that he and Ian are in the process of doing a full album of songs in the "comedy metal" genre similar to the choice cuts he included with his last two (spoken word) comedy albums.
While it's still early in the development process, Posehn did reveal one song title will be "Satan Is Kind Of A Dick." In addition to some original tunes, Posehn plans to have some "metal" covers on the album, similar to "The Gambler" on his last release. He specifically cited A-Ha's "Take On Me" as a song they are considering re-working into a metal tune.
Posehn says he plans on calling in some favors from metal legends to contribute to the album. While no release date is set yet, Posehn did confirm that the album will be released on Megaforce Records, which happens to be Anthrax's label. Posehn fulfilled his contact with his previous label, Relapse with his last release.
While we wait, let's enjoy the fantastic video for "More Metal Than You"…
