When Danzig's horror film debut called Verotika made its world premiere earlier this month, Danzig commented to the crowd after the screening “You guys laughed in some of the places I wouldn’t have, but that’s cool.” That's basically all you need to know about the film that A/V Club called "one of the most batshit ridiculous horror anthology films ever put on screen." But when will you be able to see it?
Deadline reports that Cleopatra Entertainment will release the film on Halloween, October 31st, via VOD. There will be limited screenings in the weeks leading up to Halloween in select markets – with New York, San Francisco, and Austin being listed – before the film gets the wide release.
It seems for a movie that A/V Club calls "a deeply, powerfully, almost worryingly funny film, a misfire of the highest order," this needs to be seen in a group with people. So I will be on the lookout for one of these screening dates and get high as fuck when I do so.
Meanwhile, we can keep our fingers crossed for a trailer.
