Puddle Of Mudd will continue to put out music with their next album Ubiquitous on September 8. The first single "My Baby" is now streaming and it's certainly a single by Puddle Of Mudd in 2023.
I'm not really coming away with any strong feelings about this song aside from sheer disappointment. It's just… there, with a bad mix that feels flat as hell with some extremely loud vocals and a generally inoffensive chorus that made some semblance of an effort, maybe. Kinda-ish. What else is there to say? This sucks, especially for a band of this size and who has actual, best-selling hits under their belt. I know the 2000s nostalgia is strong right now, but c'mon.
Singer and rhythm guitarist Wes Scantlin obviously feels differently about the upcoming new music from his band, saying "Fans can expect another really catchy, hooky record from Puddle Of Mudd!" Between this and the new Staind single, it's feeling very 2001-ish in here.
